Come see this "Must-See" show that has been called "an ambitious and gritty drama that sets the bar pretty high for this company.”
The Creative Social Club and the Chicago Theater Goers Meetup Group are coming together to host a special event with Chicago non-profit Mortar Theatre Company.
We're having a meetup during Mortar's world premiere production of Inherit the Whole this June at the Athenaeum Theatre on Southport. On Saturday, June 12th, we'll all get together for the show then meet the cast, director and playwright afterward for a talkback. As a local arts organization, Mortar is focused on the community dialogue that an extraordinary theatrical experience inspires.
Mortar has set up a special group price for this Meetup. RSVP and purchase your discounted tickets before June 4th to get in on the deal. To take advantage of this special 40% off deal Mortar Theatre has set up for the meetup, you must RSVP and purchase your tickets through Eventbrite:
Seating is limited in this intimate space.
The show starts at 8pm, so let's meet in the lobby at 7:45pm. I will coordinate with the box office and theatre staff to have our tickets and seats reserved. You'll see me waiting in the lobby, the tall redhead with a name tag that says Michelle (but you say it Meeshell, pretty please).
Also, nearby Jack's Bar and Grill is giving anyone that shows their tickets to Inherit the Whole 20% off their bill!

Inherit the Whole
by Dana Lynn Formby
Directed by Jason Boat
June 4 – June 27
The Athenaeum Theatre
Inherit the Whole is the story of a Vietnam vet, Doug, who has given up on the world in order to create peace for himself in the house his parents left him. His family pays a visit, looking for a rumored trunk of gold their dad buried under the house nearly thirty years ago. To prove the gold doesn’t exist, Doug joins his family in ripping through the floorboards of his own house. As he digs deeper into the ground, he finds a glimmer of hope—causing him to give up on the peace he almost found.
