We are having our first Planning Get-Together THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 15TH AT 1 PM. At this first Planning Get-Together, I will share details about my plans and specific event ideas for this group. If you have noticed the change in URL, I am planning to rebrand this group from "Chicago Creative Singles" to "The Chicago Creative Social Club". My vision is to make this an outstanding creative and social outlet for people in Chicago to socialize, connect with other creative types, have a forum for learning about creative industries and related topics, and maybe even put together expositions of our own collective creative talents. I would like to hear what YOU would like to do with the group, get to know you, and see how together, we can make this a truly fun, wonderful social group for creative types in Chicago.

ROOF does not take reservations, but securing a table or two should not present a problem as the bar opens at 1 PM (it was sheer coincidence that I picked that time!). I will try to secure a spot as near to the corner closest to the twin-corncob Marina City towers as possible (unless it is raining, in which case we will be in the covered section of the bar). Also, while ROOF is an upscale bar with a dress code, that dress code does not apply until 8 PM, so I will be wearing my impossible-to-miss purple Northwestern T-shirt. The hotel said it is OK to dress casually for Saturday afternoon, "but not TOO casually".

If you have not been to ROOF, this is an excellent opportunity to experience one of the city's unique hotspots, with the added attraction of possibly seeing a B2 stealth bomber cruise past the Chicago skyline. This first Planning Get-Together will also be an outstanding opportunity for everyone to provide creative inputs into how we re-organize and re-energize "Chicago Creative Singles", so be sure to join us on Saturday, August 15th, 1 PM, at ROOF, 201 North State Street, Chicago!
