The Creative Social Club is a Chicago Meetup Group of current and aspiring creative professionals, creatively oriented individuals, and enthusiasts of human creativity, organized exclusively to facilitate socializing and the shared enjoyment of life. Originally founded as "Chicago Creative Singles" in June 2009, this Meetup Group was scheduled to be shut down at the end of July 2009 (see notice from Meetup.com at the bottom), but was reorganized and repositioned as the Creative Social Club. Within one year under a new Organizer, membership in THE CLUB more than QUINTUPLED to over 535 members, we enjoy well-attended Meetups at a rate of more than one Meetup per month, and our Meetups have generated consistently good ratings.

The Creative Social Club is targeted toward professional and amateur actors, actresses, and presenters; film, broadcast, and theater producers, directors, and other creative talent; writers, bloggers, artists, photographers, videographers, cinematographers, musicians, audio engineers, and disc jockeys; marketing, public relations, and advertising wizards; traditional, new, and social media gurus; event organizers, entrepreneurs, food and fashion experts, editors, publishers, agents, architects, and designers and performers of every single imaginable type. Although our members include a core of accomplished creative professionals, participation in THE CLUB is strongly encouraged for all individuals who have a healthy appreciation for the fruits of human creativity and enjoy socially and positively engaging other people who share the same passion.

We get together regularly for Meetups that celebrate eclectic expressions of the human experience -- encompassing art, music, theater, film, new and social media, and beyond -- while taking advantage of the exceptional social, cultural, and entertainment amenities that Chicago offers as a world-class city. Through the Creative Social Club, you not only meet interesting, creative people, but also enjoy great content and venues. THE CLUB's events include but are not limited to:

• Art Museum Weeknights: group outings to take advantage of free Tuesdays at the Museum of Contemporary Art and free Thursday evenings at The Art Institute, and see specific art exhibits rather than a wider tour
  
• Burrito & No Dough Rock Show Combos: giant burritos and no-cover-charge rock shows in West Town
  
• Conversation Salons: casual gatherings with moderated conversation on an intellectually stimulating range of creative topics
  
• Member Showcases: group outings to exhibits, productions, or performances of fellow Creative Social Club members
  
• Ad hoc Meetups: group outings to other outstanding events and venues that Chicago has to offer, seemingly similar to ones organized by Chicago's other excellent Meetup Groups, but always with THE CLUB's creative twist
